XPANDA 1mm - 9mm - 12.5 Metre rolls
Xpanda 600 (sometimes referred to as Compriband) is a pre-compressed open cell polyurethane foam backed roll with a self adhesive scrim tape to assist positioning. Heavily impregnated with chemically stabilized acrylics creating flame retardant properties, Xpanda 600 remains permanently elastic and will continually self adjust after installation to keep gaps closed.
After application, this foam tape will expand to fill gaps and will adapt to uneven surfaces, providing long term thermal and acoustic insulation.
Xpanda 1-9 will expand from 1mm in its compressed state to a maximum of 9mm once unwound and applied.
At this size Xpanda will provide a water tight seal between 1-3mm, a thermal, acoustic and draught/dust seal from 4-5mm and anything larger will be purely a gap filler.
What is the length of a roll?
12.5 Metres
What colour is the foam and are there any other colours available?
Anthracite Grey. This is the only colour available.
What does Pascal mean?
This is the unit of force that the product has been tested to against driving rain.
What is the lead time?
Next working day if ordered before 12pm.
What do the numbers mean 1mm-9mm?
The first number is the thickness of the foam in mm in it's compressed state (on the roll).
The second number is the maximum expansion for this sized roll.
Why are the numbers of the roll different to your description?
On this sized roll you will see the numbers 1/3 - this is the range at which the product meets the 600 pascal rating for water and airtightness.
At what expansion will this product achieve air and water tightness?
Between 1 and 3mm expansion - after this it will start to lose it's properties and become a thermal insulation only.
Are any other widths available?
Yes we cut this product to size so please contact us for more options.
Is Xpanda 600 Foam Tape BBA Approved?
Yes, please contact us if you require a copy of our certificate.
Is this Compriband?
Yes, this product is also referred to as Compriband. However, our trade mark is Xpanda 600.
How do I store the Tape?
Store between 1°C to 25°C
How does the temperature affect the foam?
Temperature affects the speed at which the foam will expand.
In cooler conditions it will take longer for the foam to expand, in this instance warming the foam can be useful to help speed up the expansion process.
In the summer months (hotter days) it will, of course, expand at a faster rate. In these conditions we recommend storing the foam in a cool area to aid in a more controlled installation and also to prevent unwanted expansion in the pack.
Once the roll has been opened the foam will begin to expand.
